The Marines are a military service like the Army, Navy and Air Force..

The Seals are a military unit in the US Navy.

Your comparing apples and oranges.

You're comparing an entire military branch to a small unit? That's like saying the Rangers are better than the Navy. If the Marines went to war against the Navy seals, I think the Marines would win. 200,000 against 20? Sure, they "dominate" water, but how many seals fly planes, fire artillery, build roads and landing strips, etc, etc. You've seen too many movies kid.

As far as basic training goes, the Marines is the toughest. But SEAL training is a whole different ball game. Marines are a front-line combat kind of force. Even SEAL's admit that they wouldn't stand a chance in combat against a regular line unit. Not because they aren't good fighters, they don't have the resources to bring into a fight like a Marine Infantry unit would. SEAL's aren't supposed to get into a long drawn out fight. They prefer NOT to get into combat actually. Compromising them would mean instant death if captured.

Marines are the best group of their size in the world.

Do you think the Navy could train 180,000 SEALs?

The Marines have an organization that is roughly comparable to the Army Rangers, but ten times their size.

I-D-I-O-T

Did I write that slow enough for you?

Marines work at division size. SEALs work at small squad size. Of course the SEALs are going to be better trained at what they do; they are more centralized and have training that is more extensive and they are better then the individual Jarhead for a reason.

Now, Marine Corps Force Recon compared with the SEALs would be a better comparison.

You can't really compare the two. The Marines are by far the best of what they do and the seals are the best at what they are trained to do. They don't do the same missions so you can't really compare them.

Marines have better discipline and mind-control. SEALs are great, but not as great as Marines. Marines obviously work hard too, lol. HOORAH!

If you think that Seals are the best, why are not they fighting in Iraq?. Probably by now, we'll have only 30 Seals killed, instead of 3,000 soldiers killed?.

Pride. No Marine wants to say "That guy in the Navy (even if he is a SEAL) is better than me."
