My wrist hurt sometimes and sometimes it dont. I use the computer alot but not that much lately. If i put pressure on my hand like if i would do push ups or push on something my wrist hurt really bad and the pain would go away like in a couple of minutes unless i do that or pick up something heavy like my backpack. Somedays it hurts for no reason, but do you think its ok?

You might want to see a doctor. You might have some form of arthritis or - nine times out of ten - you have carpal tunnel syndrome. See www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/carpal_tunnel/carpal_tunnel.htm. It's a condition that affects your wrists. In short, it starts gradually with pain, weakness or numbness in the hand and wrist, radiating up the arm. Eventually it starts to get harder and harder to make a fist or grip something in your arm. It can get really bad if it goes untreated. There are some wrist bracelets that you can use in the meantime. I have a friend who is a waitress, who suffers with carpal tunnel. She used a wrist bracelet, and got somebody to waitress for her for a while ... it got better, until she started up using her wrists again. The wrist bracelets really helped her though. And even if it's not carpal tunnel, you might want to look into getting a wrist bracelet. It'll really save you in the long run!!!
Don't get surgery ... it can screw up your hand even worse than it might already be!!! Believe me ... I've waitressed myself, and I know a lot of people - both bartenders and waitresses - who are going through this. If a doctor suggests surgery, try hard as hell to get a second opinion ... a chiropractor can probably help you if it's that bad off. He'll cost a little, but it'll be worth it if it saves you a ton of bills, and a messed-up hand, from surgery ...

I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel several years ago. It started with an occasional dull ache in my wrist, and sometimes even made my wrist seem sprained. The repetitive motion of my job was the main reason for this. The pain and swelling got so bad that I had to go to an orthopaedic wrist specialist. He injected my wrist with a steroid and its been like new ever since. I was really fortunate because others who I have talked to had to have surgery. I think you should see a doctor before the condition worsens. Good luck.

Even though you're young, you may have carpal tunnel syndrome and should go see a doctor. They can help with therapy and ergonomic devices to use at the computer.

carpul tunnel syndrome is the most common. it is pretty consistent with your symptoms, also numbness occurs. i would get it checked out. it can be corrected very simply surgically, takes about 15 min.
