The problem is that the "boot sector" of the HD was NOT formatted, AND It is looking for the OS on the HD instead of the CD.

Be sure your BIOS is set to "boot from CD", then it SHOULD run the CD, IF the CD is in the drive when you start the system.

If it still doesn't work, you will need a DOS disk to "start" your system from the A: drive, then run "fdisk /mbr". Since there is NO current OS on the HD, this will "clear" the HD boot sector, which SHOULD then "force" it to boot from the CD.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AN A: DRIVE; and can NOT boot from the CD, you have a major problem; since one or the other is absolutely necessary.

NOTE: Depending on the size of the HD and the size of the partitions, I have as many as 18 partitions on a single HD!! (It also multi-boots to 5 different OS's!!)

"i never had windows vista on my drive, just three diff partitions and had windows vista on one of them" ????????? Don't really know what you're trying to do here. Are you going to install Win XP only or if you want dual-boot with Vista ? Clear your Bios of any drive by unplug the power from all drives, connect only the primary drive, reformat and install Win XP. After the installation, connect power to other drive and go on from there. Same process if you want to install Vista. Having multiple partitions on a single drive is never a good idea for anything, you're better off with using an additional hard drive.

particular you are able to deploy living house windows XP SP3 in this workstation. yet you're able to stand some problems with Sound & some Chip,s driving force. i'll favored you to apply living house windows 7, which beta version is now available for liberate to June 2010. After so which you are able to purchase an entire License of living house windows 7. because of the fact living house windows 7 is lots greater powerful than living house windows Vista.
