Prostition in its raw form is simply girls acting as somones girlfriend/wife for a short time often for lonley people.

Those are the scum, those are the ones regulation and legalisation tries to tackle as you will always have prostituion as long as there are lonley guys and girls wanting or needing money to get it off guys.

That's more of an essay than a question!

Prostitution is already legal in the UK.

The two main things that are not are soliciting on the street or other public space (because this is the most public face of the work, many people think prostitution itself is illegal) and owning or running a brothel (although it's legal to work in or visit one).

So we end up in the situation where the government complain that criminals are involved in running brothels while simultaneously making everyone who runs a brothel a criminal!

Does it make sense? No.

In fact clubs where you can have sex on the premises (eg gay saunas, swingers clubs) are also treated as brothels, even though no prostitution is involved.

Until it is possible to run one legally, they will never be as good - to visit or to work in - as they could be.

Who does that benefit? Only the criminals.

The administration has no authority to do such a thing anyway. First, laws are made by Congress, not the President. Second, prostitution is a State issue, not a Federal one. That's why there is legal prostitution in Nevada and Rhode Island, but nowhere else. Richard

Its the oldest profession in the world, so i don't think its going to stop, legal or illegal. In this day and age it should be legal. As for where they should operate from is a good question, I've heard that in other counties they operate from industrial estate's and are controlled. The girls are safe and checked for infections on regular basics and the customer know they are not in danger of getting mugged off.
