I heard this at a Christian convention last weekend. The first question is not the real question. The real question is: Can you recite one verse for every year you have been a Christian? The point of the sermon was "know the word before you can spread it." Just hoping that this will touch someone. Have a nice day.

Good point. It doesn't sound right without the whole sermon.

If you wait to "know the word" then you may never begin spreading HIS WORD as we have been told to do. The instructions to the disciples were given by Christ to go out, teach, preach, and baptize. We can not do that if we are constantly worrying about how much we know compared to others. If you are unable to answer a question it is certainly possible to studty the question and answer it later. GOD expects workers, not watchers. PS... I have been a Christian for 20 years and I definitely know more than 20 verses word-for-word. GOD has certainly blessed my wife and I over those years. Have a great week.

I have been a Christian for 26 years. I'm not sure if I can quote 26 Bible verses or not. I can't quote the Constitution either, but I've been an American for 56 years.

well, uhmmm, I've been a false convert for many years. Been a true Christian for a year and 3 months. and well, I can recite many verses. But to share the gospel, all you need to know is the gospel.
