It might be telekinesis. Telekinesis is very real, but many people fake it.

Have him repeat this phenomenon with the book under a clear glass bowl (or any other clear container). That way, it's guaranteed that wind is block out. If he can repeat it then, then he has developed his telekinetic sense. However, if he can't do it while it's under the bowl, then he is a very good stage magician.

Telekinesis, as well as other extrasensory abilities, can not yet be explained scientifically. What is known is that we only use about 25-40% of our brain (NOT 10% as is commonly thought), and that accounts for both our cognitive and involuntary actions. Extrasensory abilities are thought to work by activating parts of the brain that are not normally used--and with 60% to 75% of "free" brain mass, there is much we have yet to learn about our very selves.

I have not heard of this being done. I expect some reasonable people have tried to do this in a scientific setting and it has failed.

So the spine of the book may have exhibited this property that it turns up pages as it settles.

There is a lot of foolery in this area. It is a popular delusion.

I believe I've seen James "the Amazing" Randi do that trick (yes, trick). As I recall, he blew on the pages to get them to turn.

If you want tricks done well, ask a magician. These people who claim to have "psychic powers" are just a bunch of 3rd-rate magicians who can't make it performing, so they scam the gullible.

If the story is true, yes it can happen. I seen it on Opera Winfrey about 10 years ago a man came on her show and was moving objects with his mind. A person mind is a powerful thing.

This one is simple. Sometimes people have this power of super speed. He moved real fast and went to the book and turned the pages. He was so fast that you did not see him do it.

it's called psychokinesis, the ability to move things with the mind. while possible, unless it is done under very strict scientific conditions, it should be considered a parlor trick. it is , however, very common but not often done except as a trick often by magicians as part of an act.
under scientific conditions, it is rarely performed consistantly.

I don't think science would have any explaination but people have used the power of their mind to move things.
