I was dating a guy who is a casemanager at a mental health agency but not the one I was affiliated with as a patient. He told me yesterday that since he worked for the same company but not in the same town that he couldnt see me anymore but wants to still talk to me and maybe if he gets another job then he will see me again. It is like he wants me to ride the fence to see if whatever is goin on in his life doesnt work out then he will work it out, I found out today that the rules he stated werent even accurate and do allow us to date. What would you do.

Sounds like a lame excuse to me. Look around for another guy.

I work in Mental Health and our company policy is no contact till two years after discharge. Maybe that's the case, or maybe he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. Seems like this whole "rule" thing was a nice way of letting you go.

Forget him. There are other fish in the sea. I don't blame him even if that rule doesn't apply he job is at risk.

Keep in mind he is not that serious or interested in you or he'd find another job.

He may know that what he told you is not accurate. This could be his way of giving your the brush off without hurting your feelings.

He sounds predatorial. He probably fools around with alot of different mental health patients. he figures if you guys get to close he will be exposed. It's not your fault though, if i were you i'd tell someone about the relationship.

I think it was just an excuse. Write him off, and don't let him use you. You be the strong one and simply walk away . It will hurt him more in the long run, because you wouldn't play his game, and because if he actually really did like you then, then he lost big time.

would let it go. Apparently he was trying to be nice and didn’t want to hurt your feelings. So instead of telling you he was no longer interested in you, he simply told you a little white lie to spare your feelings.

He seems like a true gentleman..but its time to move on now…

are you sure he considered your relationship the same as you did. it dont sound like he thought you two were dating. but if you were, he definately sounds like he wants you to hang on. dont do it. you dont deserve that you need a life. let him do his thang, and you find yourself another bf. good luck

let him go. Waiting up for hime will just cause you saddness, and if he really wanted to be with you, he would work around his problems.

maybe he is scared of being involved with someone who is seeking help for mental sickness... no offence.
