I see society on the edge of a nervous breakdown, while many people do not stop partying, I see sadness, and negativity in their faces. I see uninformed rage ready to lash out at anything, hidden under tolerance, I see a time of brutality coming, a society caught between two worldviews and none of them fully satisfactory but no one it seems ever says let us stop for a moment and see what we are doing. It seems like the show must go on, we must never stop and question, just like cattle into cart. What will save us? Truly I see science becming a dictator over humans, objectifying them and it no longer being good enough to be a normal human, unless you have a microscope attached to your eye at all times, you might as well not speak, you opinion and values, your feelings are meaningless to the instituionalised "science". In this way experiments, computers, progress become more important than simple humans, we are worthless and meaningless if we cannot produce microchips

Is the fact that you don't kill anybody the last redeeming virute of honor?
Isn't that like the lowest common denominator? Now if a person doesn't kill anybody he or she thinks they are virtuous no matter what they do, they can workhavoc on society and its mores, destroy its meaning and yet at the end claim I didn't kill anybody. But they are killing our soul and virtue is the life of the soul, anybody agree?

d chino, that is assuming that what scinece is or does, is the meaning of life. To say that the opinions of a ignorant person are meaningless in science is as you say irrelevant,(beside the point I am making) my feelings about science are not irrelevant. You have the same view as a Nazi, where effiecincy and the self given goal of advancing man in their particular way is everything. I notice that people who laud scinece often lack deep comprehension or philosophical acumen. I say the subjective is the purpose of life, because why do we do science? To make ourselves happy, which is a feeling, and it all goes back to simple concepts.
