Just quit thinking about it until you honestly feel something is wrong with you. If you don't quit you are wasting your time and the doctor's time that is having to treat you for a mosquito bite. Only go to the doctor if you feel pain or something real like that. You are also wasting your money. Maybe you should see a doctor about you anxiety problems and get some prescribed to you that will help control it more.

I've always worried that I was going to the doctor over nothing, and second guessed myself constantly. I've never been in a doctor's office when I haven't apologized for taking up his or her time. So to reassure myself, I do some things before I make the appointment. First, I wait. I give the problem a day, or a few days or a week to clear up on its own. 9 times out of 10 that takes care of things right there but if not, the second thing I do is research the problem that I think I might be having. Most times I learn things that convince me that I'm making a big deal out of nothing. For example, you don't say how old you are, but are you really in danger of having a heart attack or stroke? I have chest pains when there is too much stress in my life, and when they first happened they were scary, but the odds of having a heart attack at my age are really, really, really low. And third, when I do go to the doctor I try very hard not to tell him or her what I think is wrong, but try just to describe what I'm feeling, what the symptoms are. I get a much more objective answer that way, and that doctor did go to medical school rather than just read an article in a magazine about a certain condition.
And if it makes you feel better, go in for a complete checkup. Then you can remind yourself that you can't be having a heart attack because your cholesterol was just tested and it was perfect, and a trained physician just listened to your heart and heard nothing wrong.

Hypochondria is a persistent belief that something is wrong with your body or mind. Many physicians suffer this in medical school. The obvious answer is for you to have a good health check-up and throw away those countless bottles of vitamins and such. It takes a lot of courage to be cold turkey but you need to do it. Don't amplify symptoms...a sore finger is not a sign of impending stroke and a runny nose does not indicate an infection of the brain. Re-focus on improving your health by a better diet and exercise.

The problem is not physical. The problem is emotional. Panic attacks and such. The problem is related to anxiety, so seek help in that realm. There are many directions and many therapies so consider wisely. Prescription meds should be a last resort. The best solution would be to uncover the source of your anxiety which is leading to hysterical imaginings.

That sounds like some sick and twisted irony doesnt it? like the boy who cried wolf.. then later was eaten by the wolf.
It is scary to think that nobody would belive you, so I guess I wouldnt tell anyone till I had proof.. like a fever, broken bone, things that can be seen by others.
It has to suck to not trust your instincts because they are constantly playing games on you.

See your doctor and talk about your anxiety and request a complete physical. There is help for anxiety, and once that's better controlled, the complete physical will be able to allay your fears.

Chest pains, more often than not, mean ANXIETY, so ask for a mild tranquillizer.
As far as being a hypochondriac: you can have this engraved on your headstone: I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK!
