See this site for natural help for depression. It has a psychiatrist telling what your doctor may not tell you about depression. It has foods tha the U.S. Dept of Agriculture has found to help with depression and St Johns Wort is not one of them. Plus info on diet and what to avoid.

If there are homeless people where you live, go and bring food to a couple and ask if they want some. It will make a difference in you and them.

Wellbutrin worked for me with few side effects. I had tried OTC's (St. Johns) but they didn't have any affect that I could tell. I've read about the newer techniques that they use with ECT. You remain concious and can't tell that you had anything done. Ask if this is so from someone who's had it done.

exercise works. I know you don't believe me, but thorough exercise releases endorphines in the brain and endorphines are the pleasure chemicals in the brain. Try it. You have to keep your heart rate up for a while to get them to be released.
