I would like to get married somewhere nice, not cheesy, but don't want to pay out the nose for it. I'd rather spend the money on the honeymoom.

We spent our honeymoon in Emerald Isle. I'm putting a link to the realty company we used - they are AWESOME! Give them a call and let them know what you're looking for - give them a budget and they will know what to suggest for you. They have lots of residential rentals for a good price as well - think about using them to book your honeymoon accommodations.

Another option is you could always rent a boat and have the captain marry you - that's a perfect theme for a beach honeymoon! Make reservations at a local restaurant for the reception when you return. (We like Rucker Johns!)

Good luck & many congratulations!

Definitely try this out first--

But I would seriously consider just renting a house out for the day or weekend. It's not that expensive. Then if you wanted to have the wedding inside instead of on the beach--you would be able to look at all the places first. The only halls in the area are like civic centers and you don't want anything like that. Check out these sites I listed.

We live down here in Beaufort but have you also considered Swansboro (its not that far) or somewhere on the outer banks?

The problem is that most of the hotels in the Atlantic Beach area are being torn down over the course of this year, so depending on how big a wedding you are planning, finding a place for everyone to stay is difficult. If you rent a house, at least the bridal party and parents of bride/groom would be able to stay that night in the house.

Congratulations though and best wishes!
