Instead of name calling, or trying to compare people like this to yourself, why don't all of you try being a compassionate human being rather than a cold-hearted, ignorant worthless person?
The responses to this question are just sickening. There are people out there who may not have it as "bad" as you claim to have it, but that doesn't mean you understand what they are going through inside. Depression doesn't always have to have any cause, so just because you decide no one else has suffered the experiences you have, doesn't mean that they are being stupid for feeling the way that they do. And people like you are the scum who make depressed, suffering individuals hurt even more. So why don't you try educating yourselves on the problem and try to help someone in need, rather than putting them down because you lack patience and understanding. Pathetic.
I'm sorry, but to answer your question, you can die, it's a very dangerous thing to try. If you want to relieve stress, try talking to someone. Vent your problems by communicating with other people. It's not worth it to cause yourself harm. You will feel so much better if you just reach out to someone else. Maybe someone you know can help you get therapy. Therapists may also recommend exercise as a way to reduce stress and make you feel happier. Please don't hurt yourself, it won't do you any good and it's not worth it.

How can cutting yourself be considered a stress reliever..
How simply stupid..I was once a teenager..had major problems, like an abusive mother, poor, lived on the streets for awhile, foster homes, etc...things most of you kids could never even imagine...
and I never cut myself, no one I know did..it was not a problem or a "cool" thing to do back then..and this was not all that long ago ( late 80's- very early 90s ) ...
Find another stress reliever and find a good psychiatrist..

The worse that can happen is that you can die. And no, it doesn't relieve stress. It causes you to bleed out....which will cause your body to be in hemorrhagic shock...so that will stress you out...not only mentally, but physically too. So lets say we stop the bleeding......then you have to go and get stitched up......which will hurt cause the doc has to give you shots to numb the area so he can carefully stitch you up......provided you didn't damage anything too bad inside. Then as it heals, it'll be very tender. 7 to 10 days later, you'll get your stitches removed....which is done without any anesthestic, so that will hurt. Now that it's all healed....you've got this ugly scar on your wrist for the rest of your life....so provided that you live...what are you gonna tell your grandchildren?

Please dont do it. I use to. As a stress relief. I wouldn't say it feels good but it seems this way because you are making the physical pain worse than the emotional pain. Once you start this habit its very hard to stop. You also have a few factors to think about, will someone notice the cuts, then the scars even after they heal and you feel somewhat 'better', how your family and friends will react when they see them, have you got a way to cover them, have you got someone to talk to that you trust if things get out of control. If you cut to deep you COULD DIE! but please don't, a trip to the hospital won't make you feel any better. Please go speak to someone you trust!

You can end up locked in a psychiatric hospital for harming yourself. You can also bleed significantly, end up with a an infection in your arm.
It doesn't feel good, doesn't relieve stress....
If you are distressed get help from another human being.
Talk to your doctor, your parents, a friend.
Don't hurt yourself.

You could DIE.
Don't take this chance. If you are even thinking about it, get help immediately. There are all kinds of hot lines that can offer you someone to talk with, so check the front section of your phone book, pick up the phone, and save your own life.

You can die. You can cause permanent damage to the skin, ligaments and muscles in your hand, so you can loose feeling and control of your hand. The people who say it feels good have issues, and honestly, those kids are just whiny attention-seeking little emo kids. Ignore them. Cutting yourself is just a retarded plea for attention and acknowledgment

your not a bright one are you? have u ever been cut or scraped by something?, thats what it feels like. If you cut to deep you die, if you cut at all and dont die the first time, your pretty much an attention seeker.

Give your head a shake! You would die and how do you think that will feel. I'd feel better, then I wouldn't have to see your dumb questions!
