If you seen them end to end (so to speak :) )You were probaly seeing the 'tie"...
If they had a "tie" they would have been "stuck together" for anywhere from a couple min's. to an hour..
As for how long it takes to give birth each dog & pregancy is different it all depend's on the condition of the fe. how many pup's how big they are & if everything goes alright..
And about 1/2 way through (again all fe's. are different size & condition make's a difference here too) You should start seeing sign's she's pregnant, normaly they carry puppies 62 day's but anywhere from 58 day's is also common..
Educate you self AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE on the care she should be having right from the start & For the delivery & and don't forget the after care, shot's worming vet check's & new home screening's for the puppies..
GOOD LUCK

Dogs mate by the usual method, thus the term "doggie style". Once the mating is over, the male is "locked" into the female for up to 20 minutes. While this is happening, they stand back to back, because in the natural environment, they are quite vulnerable in this stage, so the butt to butt thing is very helpful in defending themselves.
The typical gestation period for a dog is 63 days.
Dogs get pretty much the same symptoms as people do, her nipples will enlarge, her belly will get bigger, she will eat more... The vet can confirm with a blood test, or x-rays in another couple of weeks.
Why the hell isn't your dog spayed/neutered?! This shouldn't even be an issue.

Question 1: Yes. The rear-end to rear-end position usually happens during the "tie" (when the male is securely locked into the female)
Question 2: Gestation in dogs is between 58 and 65 days.
Question 3: She'l start "showing" her pregnancy when she's about 45 day into her pregnancy. The surest way to find out is to get you dog to a veterinarian and give her a pregnancy test. If that’s not an option for you, you’ll be able to tell that your dog is most likely pregnant when her nipples enlarge and darken in color. Her belly will swell, and she may begin “nesting behaviors”: tearing up and rearranging blankets, papers, pillows and whatever else is available to make a nest for her puppies as their birth nears.

Dogs have sex by the male mounting the female from the rear. It is normal for them to "tie" and get turned around butt to butt.
It takes 60 days from the day of breeding to birth.
The sings of pregnancy would be a swelling of the vulva and her nipples will enlarge. You may not notice anything until she is about 5 to 6 weeks along.

Watch her habits. She will react quite a bit like humans. Her eating and sleeping patterns will change. She will start to get real round and her nipples will plump up and push out. Gestation is not very long with dogs. Its a nine week gestation.

when they are faced away from each other (butt to butt) that position happens after the male ejaculates and his knot(the buldge at the end of his penis that ties the dogs together to makes sure none of his semn escapes and yess it is normal) enters the female. It takes 10-45 mins for the male to get soft and they can seperate. Do not try to move the dogs and keep them both calm and still because if your female freakes out and trys to pull away she will injure the male and it could end up in death of both dogs.

Yes, that is what happens when 2 dogs mate. The male starts out on top and when they tie, he gets turned around where they are butt to butt. She will be pregnant for around 63 days. Symptoms will not show up for a few weeks. Her tummy will get rounder and her teats will swell, her appetite will increase.

The did not start in that position. They were "locked" when you saw them and would be rather indelicate to explain how that occurs. The gestation period for dogs is 63 .days and it would be safe to assume that you dog is pregnant. If you do not want puppies she can be spayed a few weeks after her heat ends and prevent this and future pregnancies.

Dogs are usually pregnant for 9 weeks or so, if her stomach is hard then she might be, or if her nipples are swollen then she might be, its just hard to tell at first just take her to the vet to get her checked out. And it depends on howlong they give birth, just take her to the vet

dogs don't face each other to do it like humans do, the male dog mounts the female and sticks his little penis in the hole that is under her tail, a dog's pregnancy is about 63 days long and the signs that she's in the family way is that she gets bigger and will start nesting (that is making a place to have her puppies).
