If you look on ebay for Ford Cd players you will find one exactly the same shape as your radio cassette, Straight Swap no leads or fascia to buy. Keeps the car looking standard. Make sure the radio code is with it

For a focus you need to buy a wiring adaptor and a fascia adaptor then you can fit any after market radio Cd. It is a relatively simple job to do. Remove old head unit. Fit fascia adaptor (it should have instructions). Plug in wiring adaptor to focus wiring loom. Plug in new radio/cd harness. Connect aerial lead (may need an adaptor ask at shop). Carefully push it all into the hole in the dash.

You can remove yourself or go to a shop that will do it for you and then trade up according to want you want and how much you want to spend. You can drop a lot on up grades but don't forget you speakers and power supply . You may find you have to up grade them also because of power supply demands or over driving whats in there now . IE , cranking it up and blowing you speakers cause the can't handle what you want them to do now ( LOUDER , MUCH LOUDER. MORE OFTEN etc) or you don't have enough pwr to run your new up grades . You can generally PULL and REPLACE any radio/player combo etc with almost any other. You may have to change the face plate w/ a custom one to cover the space ( hole ) from the old unit or do some cutting ( a template is used to show where and how much ) but units wear out over time and are planned to be replaced as needed. Car stereo shops are out there by the thousands and will sell ( and most will install too ) you what ever your little 'ole heart desires .......BUT ...... WATCH OUT........ it can get expensive if your not paying attention and you may end up with some thing you don't like later............. how's it go ...............BUYER BEWARE........ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your life isn't over until an almost 11 year old girl starts raiding your closet for your old 'skinny' clothes, while the 3 year old who is watching says "Wow Momma outgrowed her clothes. She's a big girl now." I drove around for hours after that looking for a tree limb sturdy enough to hang myself from. I decided none could be trusted.

yes i did that. i went to best buy. i bought the radio/cd player that i wanted and at the time they offered free installation. i understand they are always offering free installation .
i imagine if you have the tools you can do this yourself, on my car it invovled taking off the dash board to switch the radios.
