I go by the seeds/leeches ratio, but often even when it's a good number, there will be no peers and therefore it will not start downloading.

Get something like TorrentSpy to find CURRENT seed/leech ratio. The ones on indices such as mininova are just snapshots and often outdated.

Sometimes the seeds get involved with downloading for massive amounts of leechers and it will take a little while to start- but I'm 99% sure it will if you have a good amount of seeders.

It's tough to tell. You have to just keep it open, just in case someone gets on line that has it in their seeds. I have waited 2 months for a torrent to start. I guess it just depends on how bad you want it.

Most BitTorrent software has a download status and there for tell you if it's downloading or not.

just do what i do get bit torrent and let it sit lol sometimes its 3 days before you get it but ive always gotten the file.
