Is there a recommended speed to burn Iso files. Ive been burning them at 48x (7,200 KB/s ) and they have been workin ok but should I burn slower in the future.

If it's working for you, don't bother to change it.

Most CD/DVD burning programs have a speed setting of either Maximum or Automatic. This is usually all you need. If you are having problems, then you may want to select a lower speed manually.

I use Nero for my burns and it has a checkbox that runs a verify stage after the burn, This compares the burned file with the source file. If they're different, then there was a problem. If you're using write-once media (CR-R) the you've just burned a thowaway coaster. If you're using re-writable media (CD-RW), then you may be able to rerun the burn

Its a function of what your burner and media can handle. Use that as your guide.
