First of all no college looks at individual test scores. Only semester and quarter grades!
Second, You are a long way from Medical School. I suspect that you are still in High School. You need to develop good study habits now however for the rigors of med school, if you ever get there. I suspect you will because most high school kids nowadays can't even spell their own names much less write what you did
Third, Medical Schools in the US are all pretty good as they are federally regulated, so your state medical schools are just as good as the private ones.
When I was in med school there was a saying. C=MD. It is harder to get into a medical school than it is to stay there. This is because the programs are federally funded and if they fail everybody, then they will lose the funding and the department heads will get onto the teachers and the deans will get onto the department heads and it is a bunch of politics for that almighty federal money
Your big fight will be to get A's in college and good scores on the MCAT exam (medical college admissions test). Try to concentrate on learning the material not getting A's. This is better for you in the long run as you will discover that medicine is more of an art than a science, You like me will never get it right, that is why they call it the practice of medicine
Only knowledge tempered by wisdom and common sense will make you a good doctor, so practice your people skills, communication, and just understanding that everyone is only human and you can only suggest help, you can't make them actually take the help offered unless they trust you and want help

Colleges look at transcripts and most transcripts only have grades for whatever type of term you have (semester, quarter, etc.). It's not like there's any way they're going to find out what your grade is on one exam.

It may depend on your high school, and what all they put on your transcripts. On ours, though, colleges can only see semester grades. I'm assuming yours is probably the same, so I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't get into the habit of getting D's on your exams!!!

Unfortunately, at my school, the transcript contains both semester grade and semester final exam. I hope it's not the same for you!

No...they look at your transcripts...they don't have the adminsitrative salary to have someone check for exams....
But med school is competitive so yes your dad is right to push you to be an over-achiever....Just you will eventually learn your boundaries....and so will your parents.
