Any way to reduce the pain while breathing? I took pain relievers but it didn't really do anything. Suggestions?

if you cannot get a stronger prescription then I am sorry but your options are limited. Try not not be too active and rest until you heal up, but you should do that anyway.

There is nothing you can do except nothing. The less you move the better. You have to wait for it to heal. Your doctor could give you stronger pain meds. I break ribs (compression fractures) all the time because I have osteoporosis. If I turn a different way I can break a rib. Depending on how severe the break is will depend on how long it takes to heal.
There is a surgery they can do now for it. They basically fill the open cracks in the rib with a glue like substance. That fills them so they don't hurt any longer. OR you could go to a pain clinic. That made me worse. I think they are crazy people there. And the expense would kill Donald Trump.

Good Luck...................
