what program can I buy for my computer that will allow me to edit and record dvd's from my camcorder. I use the mini dvds and want to put them on a dvd. We currently have a laptop that can play the dvds but no program to burn them.

You can burn DVDs / CDs using K3b (Linux), Mac OS X's Burn Utility, Or Microsoft Windows XP's built in burning software.

If you have another OS you'll need to say.

To capture videos from your camcorder you'll need a capture card.

I use Adobe to edit my videos and then use it to burn my dvds (they even give you the option of customizing your own menus!) Some people find it too complex, you can just seach google for video editors and look for the big name companies.
