Today I took a look at my puppy *papillon, 11weeks give or take* and noticed she looked chunkier than I swear she looked yesterday. I got her on the scale and sure enough she's put on more than half a pound in less than a week, but that's not the bit that's got me all worried.
She's sleeping on my lap right now, belly up and there's a deffinant lump in her stomach. It's like this alien thing, I was just kinda feeling around and unintentionally put a bit more pressure on the lump and it went down, kinda like squeezing the air out of a section of baloon. Within seconds the lump reffilled with a gurgling sound. Feeling around some more I found her stomach in general is behaving like this.
I have an appt for her tomorrow afternoon, so telling me to see a vet is moot point, but please for the love of god tell me it's just gas or something so that I can sleep tonight. Don't lie to me, though.

She's also making this weird, coughing, "i want to vomit" sound, and does occasionally throw up a little foam and only once threw up with any chunks of anything, though she has eaten today.

Hey, thank you guys for your answers. It's morning now and she still seems fine aside from that coughing thing and all the freaking fleas she somehow has even after advantix.treated her a little over a week ago and I don't think they were gone at any point. Vet can tell us what to do there. Right before I started typing this she was actively attempting to eat the pencil I was using to write down my list of questions, and now she's knawing on my key board.
Thanks again.

Puppy is fine, a little tender where she received some shots, but has a clean bill of health. All my concerns were laid to rest, and I guess it was sleep deprivation that caused me to freak out so bad last night as her stomach is perfectly fine. I tend to over analyze things when I'm tired or otherwise not in the right conciousness. I psych myself out, which may or may not be better than brushing everything off as nothing.
And the good vet cost a little bit LESS than the bad one did for both our dogs. Sure, we saved a little on the visit itself with the bad vet, but we spent more on the flea treatment that didn't work at all at any point, as well as two unnecessary fecal floats. Heck, I think the extra $17 on the visit is worth it for the vet tech's knowledge alone. Then the vet comes in and is great, informative and all that good stuff.
Thanks every body.

It is probably an umbilical hernia you can have it fixed when you spay the pup. (if it is an umbilical hernia) Have the vet take a look. Wow this pup was such a good deal. I bet you are still very happy you decided not to wait until you could afford a puppy from a reputable breeder and got that petshop pup instead. Did you finally find a ride to the vet?

Being made in God's image has no longer something to do with the way we glance. God isn't a guy hence God can not appear like a guy. God is a spirit. Spirits do no longer choose air to stay alive. God is a male yet no longer a guy because of the fact he isn't a individual (no guy has ever seen God at each time). A male lion can not be reported as a guy because of the fact he isn't a individual. To be made in God's image ability human beings have been created with capacity to worship whilst animals weren't.

It may be a hernia.... but I don't know why that would cause a weight gain. Edit: after re-reading your post, it really DOES sound ike a hernia. If you could push it back in and it comes back out with ease it is more than likely an umbilical hernia. Hernias are usually easy enough to repair, but it does mean surgery for your little tyke.
I'll be curious to hear what it is. But don't want my email on this site.

A lump that "empties" when you push on it and refills with a gurling sound is most likely a HERNIA. You're doing the right thing by getting your dog to a vet.

Does the dog seem to be in pain?
It could be a bowel blockage, it could be gas. Did you explain to the vet about her symptoms when you called? If he didn't seem panicked and tell you to get her in NOW then she's probably going to be okay for the night. But I wouldn't blame you a bit if you stayed up the night with her. I would check on her periodically through the night (At least) and keep the number of the 24 hr emergency vet clinic on hand just in case. If at any point she seems to be in a lot of pain or to be having difficulty breathing or just seems really off, follow your instincts and take her in.
But honestly, if she's been eating normally, your vet said tomorrow would be okay, and she's sleeping peacefully on your lap, I wouldn't panic. (You seem to have the apropriate level of concern)
Hope this helps

The only thing you can do is take her to the vet. It may not be anything but you never know. The vet is the safest way even if its just nothing at least you will have closure. You wouldnt want to find out that something is really wrong with you puppy and then its too late.
Hope I could help

Your puppy has an umbilical hernia. This is considered a congenital breeding defect and no one should have sold this puppy. Now that you are thoroughly attached, it is correctable, and your puppy will be fine if treated.
Your dog should never be used for breeding purposes and should be spayed or neutered when old enough.

she haves a hernia. nothing to worry about but if its more then 3 fingers wide I'm glad your taking her to the vets, its very common to have it. Its a small hole in the tummy. if its to big though it can could mean her intestines can fall through it. its not life threatening hope everything goes well
give her a kiss for me

Check to see that your puppys output is normal, if she is still doing 1 and 2 your probibly fine to wait till morning, if not however get her to a vet ASAP as a twisted intestine might be the cause.
