If none of them could survive without Satan then don't they really owe a great big thank you to Satan?

Without Satan they wouldn't need their gods. You cannot have good without evil, black without white, etc.
They need Satan to keep their BS religions.

might want to you interbreed a crocodile, elephant and porcupine? :) heavily, although, this can contain attempting to unify satanic religions into the blend too and this aint going to happen willingly. and that i'm in user-friendly words speaking right here in the Christian denominations no longer to point Jewish or Muslim faiths. Its going to happen quickly although - with the help of the nationwide Sunday Act the position we are able to all worship the solar god on Sundays - take a seem on the countries around the former Yugoslavia the position it has all started already.

You can't take Satan out of a religion because he is real, not just imaginary like in a story book. No one owes a thankyou to Satan. He ruins peoples lives. That's nothing to be thankful for.

Let's see - who would Satan symbolize. He walks on two legs instead of crawling on all fours. But the face doesn't look anything like an ape or a monkey. He has two opposable thumbs.

Who does this sound like to you?

well i'm agnostic but if you take away the threat of lucifer/satan and hell then probably not as christianity is not a religion based on philosophy anyway it's like anton szander lavey said that satan is the church's best friend as he has kept it in business for all of these years

They can and will survive without satan. Especially since the fate of satan is sealed it's just a matter of time. When satan/lucifer fell from heaven cast out by God he lost his chance, his pride and ambition to be god was his down fall we each have the same potential to be like him. Eternally separated from God.

If there was no Satan. There would be no need for religion.Because The Father would be with us.You know what else wouldn't be here?War,disease,hate,greed,racism...etc.If Lucifer,Gods' most beloved angel wouldn't have walked away from God.Things would have been better.
Here is some bad news for you.GOD LOVES YOU WARTS AND ALL.You are his sweet little child. He wants you back.He knows you are hurt and mad,an loves you all the same.I will be praying for you.His love never fails.Return to Poppy.

Sure they could. Here's why.
Most people believe, see, hear, and think what they wish
to any way.
No beliefs of mine hinge upon the devil's existence.
Since a religion is a body of rules and laws, a religion
could only survive if the founder is still alive.

Many religious who emphasize the devil's existence are
obsessed with him, and have more belief in his power,
than they actually have in that of God.

Many people might have better ethics and better, caring,
religious beliefs if they thought more about God.

They would have huge difficulties with the problem of evil and suffering. Personally, I think inventing a second supernatural being (like an evil twin) is an unsatisfactory solution.
