I get pains on the RIGHT side of my chest on a daily basis. They are sharp shootings pains usually not lasting for more than a minute but the occur often in each day. Does anyone know what it could be caused by or what I can do to stop it?

I obviously would not like to see a doctor about it because it may be something minor related to stress or diet and I would like to get other peoples opinions or experiences on the situation before I waste a medical professional's time.

I don't know if I can edit that other part. Alright I will see a doctor but I would still like to know if anyone has any experience with this type of pain.

You could have Costochondritis or Tiezte's Syndrome. You will still have to see a doctor to be properly evaluated. Please listen to us all when we say that you need to see a doctor for any kind of pain in your chest.... even if it's on the right side. Recurring, sharp pain is nothing to play with.

As an ambulance driver for the lovely State of Washington, ANY chest pain, is a possible sign of something much more serious. If its not terribly painful, make an appointment to see your normal doctor, but it wouldn't be a terrible thing to have someone drive you to the ER.

Many people feel embarrissed for calling us. Believe me, we won't think you're stupid for calling us. That's what we're there for. We only get frusterated if you call us because you're lonely. (Really, we get calls like that) However your situation is a good thing to call for.

Yes. SEE A DOCTOR! It could be anything...stress, indigestion, irregular heartbeat, electrical problems with the heart, pulmonary problems, gall bladder, liver, the list is endless. SEE A DOCTOR!
