if you're accepting a religion, YOU'RE ACCEPTING THE RELIGION! don't be a hypocrit by agreeing with certain parts but not others.

Yoy don't have to embrace everything religion or religious people tell you. People often emphasize some aspect of their religion to the expense of other aspects. Everyone is in a stage of growth. Contrary to popular opinion, a person should question (reason) the doctrines taught by many religious people. It will make you grow in knowledge and grace (and faith).

Uh, look at how fractured Christianity has become over the centuries! There are many different varieties of Christianity.

So, if you don't agree with what good ol Casey Treat and his Christian Faith Center has to say, then you just pack up your tithe and go to Washington Catherdal.

OR you join the Methodists or the Lutherans (lots of variation there too!)

Or you can just bail out completly and join the Unitarians or Unity or join the super church for the alternative lifestyles _ Religous Science.

You can "embrace" any religion and still disagree with certain aspects. Seriously, just like any relationship you have, you can love someone but that doesn't mean that you agree with everything they do or say, right? I think a lot of people have things that they disagree with in their religion.

I dont think its even possible for any 2 people to agree with everything about any one religion. We all have our own experiences, thoughts, and interpretations. The last thing I ever worry about is if I agree with someone or not. The control freaks, thats all they worry about. Some people want the power to control others. You have to listen to your own instincts.

Of course you don't have to agree with everything! Of course you can be critical of your religion! The history of my people is proof positive of both these statements. We argue about anything and everything! Abraham argued with God himself, if you believe the legend. Jacob wrestled with an angel, and won! Moses questioned God on numerous occasions. I don't care what your religion is, I don't know anyone, of any faith, who accepts EVERYTHING!

I ask my Pastor questions all the time, even the tough ones. He's happy to answer, and if not, will find someone, or something to help. I'm always learning.
