Well you have it wrong for 1. Qualifications for a SeAL is different for qualifications for sniper. For SeAL you volunteer and take an entrance physical exam. Running, swimming, and basic strength endurance. If accepted you will be sent to BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/Seal) training. Very intense both physically and mentally. If you don't ring out, or are med out of BUD/S you go on to more training for parachute, and other specialties. The school for Sniper is run by both Army and Marines. Very intense mentally, and physically straining. You are taught weapons, ballistics, and camouflage techniques. Both trainings have a high attrition rate (Drop out). If you think you can do it, check in the the navy website for SeALS.

Try talking to former SEALs and a recruiter (be wary of the recruiter) In the past you had to join the Navy first, and try out for the SEALs. I had a friend in 93' wanna do that, and he had to join as a Radioman, because then, the SEALs only would take sailors with specific jobs. Corpsmen, Radio Operators, etc.... I think it is still the same.

There are no SEAL snipers, but everyone on a SEAL team would be able to perform the functions of a sniper.

You have to go thru some VERY INTENSE training over a course of several weeks. One of them is how to become a TEAM player, and not just to become a sniper. Watch the MILITARY channel and at times they follow a company of Navy and Marine personnel who train to be a SEAL.

you have to be more than just a sniper, you must meet all the mental and physical requirements to become a Navy Seal, if you don't have the attributes, you will not make it, thousands sign-up for it and hundreds wash out.!

to get into SEAL bootcamp, you need:

* 500-yard swim using breast or combat side stroke in less than 10:30
* 100+ push-ups in 2 minutes
* 100+ sit-ups in 2 minutes
* 20 pull-ups from a dead hang (no time limit)
* Run 1.5 miles in boots and long pants in under 9:30

And that's just the beginning, yo.

you have to go through basic training like anyone else, then take classes and courses aiming you in that direction. then you have to pass seal tests, etc. there have been TV shows on like History channel and all about the process.

If I recall correctly....only like 4 out of 40 make the class cause the tests are so hard and demanding on the body and mind.
