Why does my dog like to rub his neck on stuff.?

Question

Whenever I lay down next to him he like to rest his neck on my head and just stand there.

And one time I saw him rub his neck in dead crawfish. (He got a good bath after that one)

I know the scent thing might have to do with hunting instinct, but I don't know why he would want to rub his neck on me?

After elimating any possible health issues. The #1 reason dogs like to rub on their favorites things (dead fish or YOU) is for the scent. He wants to smell like you do!! You should be honored!!!

Check if he has some type of bug on his neck. And if there is try to pull it off with tweezers. then put it in a cup and put flea powder in it. Then get your dog a flea collar.

HE HAS DRY SKIN OR A HOT SPOT. GIVE HIM SOME OPENED VITAMIN E, IN HIS DOG FOOD, TRY THIS FOR 2 WEEKS, HE SHOULD NOT BE ITCHY AFTER THAT.

is he wearing a collar?...maybe his collar is too tight or maybe it's bothering him. Make sure you can put a couple fingers under the collar to make sure it's not too tight. Otherwise, it probably just feels good. My pugs turn to jelly when you scratch that area under their ear/on the cheek near their neck.

Most dogs have favorite spots to be rubbed, that is more than likely his.

my dog does ther same thing but it was because her coller was irritating her skin so check on that
