What happens a 2500 and 2300 NiMH battery in the same device?

Question

I purchased a pack of 2500 NiMH batteries. After a charge, they won't power my camera, it flashes "Low Battery". However, when I use a 2500 and a 2300 battery, the device works fine. Am I causing any permanent harm to the batteries, or more importantly, my camera? Thanks!

the only problem u will run into is that 1 battery will need charging sooner than the other 1 it will not damage the camera or the batteries
