The mosquito has an anti-clotting agent in their saliva which enables them to suck your blood freely. This anti-clotting agent causes a slight allergic reaction, thus the itching and the swelling in the bite area. There are some people who are very allergic to a mosquito's saliva, which in turn could be dangerous to them.

its the poison that the mosquito injects into your skin when shes feeding to stop your blood from conjealing our body reacts to that poision and it itches if you put your nail hard into the bite and make a x it disperses the poison and it stops itching
