This is From Martha Stewart, Queen of Cooking:

Ranch Dressing
Makes 3/4 cup


1/3 cup low-fat buttermilk
1/3 cup reduced-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 small garlic clove, pressed or very finely chopped
1 tablespoon minced scallion coarse salt and ground pepper

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, sour cream, and vinegar; stir in garlic and scallion. Season with salt and pepper.



Note: Try Ranch dressing over wedges of iceberg lettuce or as a dip for crudités.

Ranch Dressing #1

3/4 c mayonnaise
1/4 c buttermilk
1/2 t garlic powder
1/4 t cayenne pepper
1/4 t freshly cracked black pepper
1 dash dried minced garlic

Mix well and refrigerate.

Ranch Dressing #2

1/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup plain yogurt
2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1½ tsp. of each dry herb: chives, dill weed, oregano, parsley
1½ tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. fresh ground black pepper
Dash hot sauce

Mix all well, store in refrigerator at least 3 hours before serving for best flavor.

The powdered HVR branch made w/ the buttermilk and mayo is pretty hard to beat for flavor and convenience.

Ranch Dressing

1 cup sour cream
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tbsp. onion, minced
1/2 clove garlic---1/2 tsp. minced
1 tbsp. parsley, finely chopped
2 tbsp. dill, fresh or 1 tbsp. dried
1/2 tsp. oregano
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. black pepper
Combine in a blender and mix well. Keep refrigerated.
