When does someone consider themselves a Muslim?

Do you actually have to enter a mosque and revert to Islam to officially be a Muslim, or just pray five times a day, fast, and say your Shahada to some witnesses? I'm thinking of reverting, myself.

I converted to Islam. .. I just understood the basics and uttered the 'Kalma'. I dont pray five times a day or anything.. i believe its very much a personal matter. I find it more important to be a purified and tolerant person.

I would assume when you choose to believe in the beliefs of Islam. Though I'm not sure on the wording here. Revert means to "go back to" or "to become again." Reverting to Islam would suggest you were Muslim at one time. Whenever they consider you Muslim and you consider you Muslim, I would guess you to be Muslim.

If however you mean convert (first time in becoming one, rather than going back to being one) to Muslim (I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I am only trying to make sure I understand your question), I would say look into Islam. If you like what you see and it makes sense to you (and Islam has a lot going for it, I don't know everything about it but from what I see you have something worth looking into in Islam) then take on the beliefs and be the best person you can be.

NO ! u dont hurt anyone .. u do what makes u feel clean and good from insides and realize that no god but allah that makes u muslim. but prayers fasting and stufff makes u true muslim .
