I mean think about it!
It should really be a status in your life like
Example: Married (yes) Sexuallity (straight) etc...
And the definition for it is "the religon of praticing no religion"
ALSO!!! If schools want to take out religion out of schools
They would have to put some manner of Worship in because Athiesm is considerd a real religion.

The human race is so far advanced yet so stupid

Im not saying that one religion is superior im saying why is it considered a religion and not a status of your life?

What is moral -- what behaviors promote the health and flourishing of the most human beings over the long term and what behaviors produce or sustain a peaceful, just society -- is, for atheists and for most agnostics, entirely separate from the question of whether gods or supernatural beings exist. I dare say that just about all atheists regard morality as partly innate and partly man-made, and that only in human social groups larger than the family or clan does someone get the clever idea of attributing the origin of moral rules to some supernatural being or law-giver. Finding moral rules in this or that religion to be abhorrent or barbaric has certainly been one factor that has driven some believers to move to atheism (reasoning based on theodicy or the problem of evil), or to anti-theism ("A god like the god of the Hebrew Bible or the Q'uran doesn't exist and I wouldn't want such a god to exist if he/she/it could.") But "atheism" requires more than a rejection of part or all of some scripture-based, allegedly god-invented moral rules. It takes a conviction or belief that gods do not exist.

Atheism isn't often considered a "religion" (at least not that I've seen), but it can be listed under a religious category as a noted substitute. If there is a poll asking to identify your religion or religious convictions you would naturally mention "atheist" because it simultaneously answers the "what religion are you" question and sidesteps it.

I didn't know that people other than Xians consider Atheism to be a religion. You have an interesting point that it should be considered a status of our lives. I will definitely think about that. It's interesting.

Atheism is a belief that there is no God. That differs from a religion, although it is still a belief system.*

Taking God out of schools is NOT the same thing as teaching that there is no God. The point of the separation of church and state is to allow people to freely choose and practice their faith without being exposed to bias.

*Yes, atheists, it is. You do not and can not KNOW that there is or is not a God, so thinking that there is no God IS a belief.

I don't think I would agree with Atheism definined as a religion either. I would call it a belief system or worldview-- which might also fall into your category of status, since sexuality is also a kind of worldview--

Some Christians are very adept at ignoring logic, and casually redefine meanings to words to suit their argument. They would claim that Atheism is a religion, Single is the name of someone's wife, and None is a make and model of car.

Because Atheists treat Atheism as if it's a religion.

They have their own "writings", their own "prophets" and they are usually obsessed with God (or his non-existance).

Think about it.

If you're an Atheist, why do religious forums interest you at all? I don't believe in Mohammed as a prophet, and therefore I never go into an Islamic discussion forum. Why would I?

Atheism by it's definition is a lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.
