You can request a manual from Remington for free and it will include the procedure for cleaning the rifle if you're interested.

you really don't have to do much, or any field stripping. wipe the barrel and all metal around the receiver with a light coat of Rem oil before you put it away.

the easiest way to clean the barrel is get some BreakAway and a Bore Snake for the .22 caliber. A few passes through the barrel and it's in pretty good shape.
