I have heard that baking soad will remove some of the basic stains on teeth, and brighten them. I have started, but have only been doing it for a few days, so I don't expect any results for a few weeks. My question, is are there any serious side-effects I should be concerned about putting baking soda in my mouth. I'm not swallowing it, but I'm sure some goes down my throat, and I don't want to cause any un-needed health problems just b/c I want pearly whites! Any info. would be great! Thank you!

Jennifer,

I LOVE baking soda!

I brush with it to whiten my teeth.
I gargle with it to freshen my breath.
I drink it (1/4 teaspoon in 1 cup of warm water) to settle my stomach after I eat food that is too spicy.
I use it to exfoliate my skin when I run out of Clinique.
I used a box when I set my kitchen on fire (don't ask).

Baking soda is great for your teeth and gums - it is even better than toothpaste (no deadly rat poison). You can swallow the baking soda with no problem it will only make you burp, it is a natural ant-acid.
