So what would you say are the best brand and type of bandages? (e.g. BAND-AID® Brand Liquid Bandage) Or if you've tried BAND-AID® Liquid Bandages, how were they?

A little unusual, but consumer reports doesn't do a report on bandages as far as I know. I'm one of those (annoying) people who prefer something tested, even with cheap items :)

I have tried the liquid bandages from Band-Aid and from Nexcare. I found that even when applied according to the directions, it left a residue that dirt/dust/lint would stick to, making my skin look dirty, and making me question whether the wound was actually staying clean. They are only intended for certain types of wounds, also, so read the label carefully.

I like the Nexcare bandages, especially the waterproof. I work in healthcare and have to wash my hands many times during the day, and these do keep the wound clean and dry. Again, applying them carefully, as the directions indicate, is the key to a waterproof seal.

Nexcare Tattoo Waterproof Bandages (I think they make them without the tattoo as well, but I am the mother of a 5-year-old, so we get the tattoos). They go on and stay on almost anywhere, and they really are waterproof. Instead of just adhering to your skin on 2 sides, as Band-Aids do, the Nexcare bandages have adhesive around the edge of the entire bandage, so the wound is completely sealed.
