how do they pick people for jury duty in NC?

how are you picked for jury duty in north carolina,also is this same way in other states?

If you have lived there more than 3 years, they just send you a notice to show up for jury duty. When you go, that doesnt necessarily mean you will be one of canidates to participate for a trial that they need jury members for. They will explain it to you in the meeting.
