i just got a bob to just above my chin, straigth the whole way around. i have fairly thick hair but obv. it is thinner when short. i have a slight cowslick so can't have a fringe :(
can i make my hair curly? i don't want ringlets or spirals or anything i just want fairly tight waves. without looking like one of those girls on those nineties shows like saved by the bell the college years who wear stone-washed jeans, floral waistcoats and
velvet hats!
any tips? must be a quick method. thanks

thanks for tips so far. i have tried the bobby pin before with long hair but i made it to curly so it might indeed be better for short hair! thanks!

My mom used to curl my hair using bobby pins. It was called "pin curls" . I think it would work with short hair. What you do is take a small section of hair and twirl it and then make as much of a twirl or curl as possible flat on the head. Then put one bobby pin in to secure it and another perpendicular to it, to make an "X" . Do this all over the head. Let dry and take out and you should have some nice curls. Hope this helps!

Try steam curlers or old-fashioned sponge curlers. Also, before you go to sleep at night, try a variation of a pin curl. You can experiment by taking 1/4 inch strands of your hair, twisting your hair into tight coils, and bobby-pinning each individual hair coil in an X formation using bobby pins. Sleep on these curls and take out the bobby pins in the morning and you should achieve a wavy look without the use of hairspray. I have found the last technique to be especially helpful for my wavy-straight hair. Additionally, you can buy a curling iron with a larger barrel. It sounds like your curling iron is skinny, which is the cause for kinky-tight curls.

finger weaves then let it dry, go to a shop and they can show you how to do it. it shouldn't cost very much maybe 12 to 15 dollars. for a style. they will wash it and the finger wave w/ big waves, dry you under the dryer, and comb it out. That sounds like the 20/40's look

The same as when its long! throw in some gel and scrunch. Or try putting in curlers at night- its much easier to do that with short hair then long. Or put it in french braids when its wet, and it will be wavy when you take the braids out. Good luck!

very easy and quick, Scrunch it. Just take some styling mouse and with it grab your hair in your fists. It will come out with pretty waves.

my hair is kinda short to, and it is very hard to curl it. using hair curlers all night made me look like sherly temple, and so i used them for a few hours, and it looked wonderful.
