some pepole created a website and describe their poor situation, and wishes others who browser such site would give them an hand--donate some cash to solve out their problem,such as bankruptcy , can't pay back their creadit card, etc

I know a few people who have gotten "help" that way. But I've also been scammed by one woman through a freecycle group, (found her selling the Christmas presents I donated to her friend's son & daughter on another email group/website) so I won't give to anyone online anymore, unless I their situation is well documented. Guess I was one of those "suckers" everyone else mentioned!!!

I heard about something like that about in 2002 with a website called ' Save Karyn ' I think. It made the Sunday supplement magazine but outside of that not much else. I guess if you need help there's nothing wrong in asking so long as you're honest and there are, of course, no strings attached.

I think it works if the site has enough publicity. But if people are on Answers "I'm poor. Can you PayPal me some $?" then no, that never will work.

I think its called cyberbegging and yes this was on our news station just a few nights ago. They still do exist.
