One of my clients (she's only 50) started experiencing numbness in her big toe before Christmas. Yesterday it was all red and sore. She went to the doctor and he said it was infected. She is now on antibiotics but says her hip, leg and derriere are hurting. She is wondering if it could be related to her toe.

Yes; if she is "favoring" the toe, it could mean that she's walking in an unusual way so as to put stresses in the wrong places. That could strain her entire leg just as she has described. I suggest that she stay off her feet as much as possible for a few days, and let the antibiotics do their work.

yes it is a lymphnatic node in the inside of the left and or right leg that will give pain it is a lack of infectious swelling in the legs and they are not likely nodes to swell or get infected because they rive in the muscle but it is the reason why she is in pain upper and or lower. there is a series of muscular node lower in the calf and upper on the inside of the thigh that will become infected both i think have to be at slight or contaminated with the infection upper and lower to cause pain from the toe.
