I think the fastest way to get your lungs cleaned out (scarring is permanent from lung damage--nothing you can do), but to remove a lot of that built up tar in the lungs EXCERCISE. Aerobic excercise that will cause you to breathe heavily and oxygenate your lungs and the capillaries within. This would get housecleaning going. The cilia inside of your lungs will come back in time and aid in cleaning also. You will most likely cough up a lot of phelgm from the excercising which would be a good thing. And, you may have lifelong problems depending upon how much permanent damage was done.

QUIT SMOKING IMMEDIAETLY IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO AND WITHIN 24 HOURS YOUR BODY ALREADY STARTS THE PROCESS OF CLEANING YOUR LUNGS. IT CAN TAKE UP TO 5-10 YEARS FOR YOUR LUNGS TO COMPLETELY RECOVER.

IF YOU ARE STILL SMOKING IGNORE THE HOLD IT IN TO GET A BETTER HIGH THING. DON'T INHALE DEEPLY AND RELEASE RIGHT AWAY, BUT I ENCOURAGE YOU TO QUIT.

Lots of heavy excercise and deep breathing. Go for stamina jogging. Increase your lung capacity by running until you are out of breath. As time passes you will find that you don't get out of breath so easily.
