i was told the maximum x-rays you can have in one year is 50 before it becomes a danger

Radiation dissipates! HA LOL, good one bull. It all depends on what type of equipment that is being used to "xray" you, how much KVP and MAS that is used, how often you have the "xray" done, how close you are to the source ( usually an xray tube), it doesnt matter whether its a CT or a plain Xray ( they both use ionizing radiation to create an image, its just that a CT uses alot more at one time than regular plain film xrays. Any who, it all comes down to Time and Amount. too much at one time your gonna die. A little bit at a time over an extended period of time could kill ya dead too. If the reward is better than the drawbacks of getting xrayed then you should do it. Also, you do not remain radioactive after you have an xray! dissipates. LOL.

u get 10 days worth of background radiation from an x-ray (40 mrem a mrem is 1/1000 of a rem) for a CAT scan it depends on what part is scaned for the body abdomen and chest scans u get about 3 yrs. worth of background radiation radiologist are trained to use the least bit of radiation nesscesary for the scans if u are really concerned go to http://www.epa.gov/radiation/students/calculate.html
there u can calculate ur dose normal dose is about 360 mrem

It depends on what is being Xrayed. If it is a simple chest X ray, hundreds. If it is a total body CT scan, not as many.

A few hundred, the radiation is so low, it's dissipates after a couple of weeks.

I have had 10 , I don't feel well, on the up side I don't have a light bill any more.

it depends on your age. I have then done once or twice a month depending on the level of pain i'm having in my broken leg. but then again i'm only 24.

about 8 then you start to turn 4 more after that and you have really had it
