Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory medication.
A muscle relaxant is slightly different. You would have to check with your doctor about mixing them. Muscle relaxants usually make you feel drowsy, and you also need a prescription for them. Naproxen is over the counter (like Aleve) as an example.
Good luck with your muscle pain.

Yes, Doctors prescribe Naproxsyn, Naproxin, Naprosyn (Aleve) as an anti-inflammatory along with muscle relaxants all the time. An anti-inflammatory cuts down on the swelling of angry tissues around an injured area. You pull the ligaments (sprain) your ankle..it begins to swell..because it is inflamed. The inflammation stretched the tissue and skin and it hurts because of the pressure on the nerves. Imagine forcing a small balloon up under your skin and then blowing it up..it would hurt, right? That's how Naproxyn works, it deflates the balloon. Muscle relaxants act on the muscle to make it relax instead of being tense (tightened) because of injury. Since your eyelids won't stay open if you relax the muscle that opens and closes the eyes..muscle relaxants are notorious for making you feel "sleepy". Naproxyn doesn't do what muscle relaxants do so you would not be taking an "overdose". The two drugs are in different classes and do different things. You can mix the two.

Since you haven't said which muscle relaxers, I can't really help.
Talk with your pharmacist. He/she can print you out some info.
Until then, I would NOT mix a strong non-steroidal-anti-inflammatory drug with other drugs due to risk of bleeding, eroding stomach lining and exacerbating the inflammatory (arachidonic acid/prostaglandin synthesis) cascade.
And definitely stay away from alcohol if you are taking either naproxen or muscle relaxers. You can seriously damage your liver.
Hope you feel better!

Depends on the dose and the person. Your lungs function with muscles, so you relax them when you take a muscle relaxer - not as much as some other muscles, but they are relaxed and your breathing will slow. Alcohol is a depressant and can slow breathing even more, thus you can stop breathing with the right...or wrong dose. BTW muscle relaxers aren't recreational drugs and they aren't harmless, especially when mixed with alcohol. Just my two cents.

You should call a pharmacist or your doctor before you do. I know there are a few you can mix. But to be safe make the call first

I wouldn't personally since it is so strong. My mom was on them and they knocked her out. She's a big woman too. (Muscle/Height wise)
