a couple of ideas:
if for kids: Animal crackers to help them learn about the animals they just saw, probably peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, and some fruits. Juicy juice or similar and some water. Also, don't forget to bring some extra bread to feed the docks and stuff.

If for adults: a tuna salad, chicken salad sandwich, If prefer, ham and cheese maybe, those small fruit trays/ vege/cheese trays you can find at the grocery stores that's already pre-made, chips or equivalent, water, soda, or a little alcohol if allowed. and some extra bread to feed the docks. ;-)
hope this helps!!

Look I just checked the weather and it looks like the only day to go to the zoo is Thurs. because the rest of the days are rainy you should get sunscreen sunglasses (If its hot ) and for the food for the kids you should get them animal crackers peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and some fruits and chips and juice. for adults you should get a tuna fish sandwich chips soda some alcohol (If they allow it )

fruit is very healthy, if your'e really quick you may be able to pinch a couple of bananas off the monkeys...........

however, why not just put extra money aside, and splash out and buy food there, lugging stuff around is so tedious, and if your'e taking kids, you know who will be left carrying everything don't you?????????????????????????................

carrot/celery sticks, crackers, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, juice, water, cheese chunks,cheese/meat sandwich, Also take your own feed for the animals because it is to expensive to buy there. example, bread crumbs, bird feed, rabbit feed ect

I would rather just buy linch there. it's easier and yummy. May be pricy but beats carrying your cooler around
