Was Red lead paint used on US ships?

red lead paint was used extensively in any place steel was used because it's an excellent anti rust coating.......ships, bridges, pipelines, oil tanks, skyscrapers......everywhere there was steel there was red lead.....thats why, in pictures of anything under construction before, say, 1980, that redish brown color of the steel? That's probably red lead paint.

It's hard to find today and its use is very limited to hobbyists and wooden boat builders, as an anti-rot primer.

Usually if the artist who painted it was famous for some reason. However, sometimes they don't become really collectible until after they're dead. I would talk to someone in a reputable art auction house about this, to be honest.

I din't know, but some types of paint can cause cancer!
