To me it really doesn't matter how old the parents are. I have this friend whose dad just turned 70 last year! She's an only child and she's 16!! I see what you mean by wishing that your parents were younger. Sometimes I wish that too. My dad is 51 and my mom is 50. My oldest siblings are 19 and I'm 16! I only want them young so they could see their grandkids. But to think it's not good for your parents to be old? I don't think so. I feel for ya bro!

I am 42 years old and have a 22, 17 and 13 year old. My 13 year old son's father is 60. He is a wonderful father but sometimes my son wishes his dad was younger. But, I just remind him that he should be thankful for his dad as many kids lose their parents at a much younger age. In a perfect world it would be nice to have younger parents, but as we know there is no perfection. Age is just a number. Be thankful for what you have. :)

That's not bad. Actually it's nice to hear older couples still having children.
All the kids I went to school with (let's say when I was like, 18, a senior in high school) had parents that were like in their late 30's and early 40's, however my dad was about 57 at that time and my mom was 48, so don't worry about it.

You can't really say it's bad or anything...I mean it was your parents decision to have kids that are 3-4 years apart and when that happens, the parent is usually older to you than your older siblings...I'd say it'll be about average and you should consider yourself lucky because the older parents get, the more they spoil their youngest children and well, you could also rely a lot on your older siblings ^^

Certainly it is not bad and you shouldn't feel "different" or feel you ever need to apologize or have to explain anything about your parent's age. I am sure your parents love you and want you to be happy. If you allow their age to upset you they will sense this and it will probably upset them that you are upset. Enjoy your parents, the best anyone can at your age. I know 13 is a tough age - regardless of whether your parents are 32, 42, 52 or 62. It will all be okay. Just love your parents and allow them to love you. Just as you deserve to be loved for who you are, a special person, your parents to need to be loved and shown respect. It's normal to wish we could "pick our parents" at times - but just be grateful you have parents that love you and care about you. All the rest will take care of itself. I hope this helps!

what difference does it make how old they are? are they incapacitated in some way? can't they talk to you, provide you with all the things you need including the computer you're on? are you embarrassed by their age? i don't see what the complaint is. be grateful you have them. many kids don't have family at all. and by the way-62&52 is not old.

Be thankful. When you are the first child and your parents are very young, they have to experiment on you. This is never a good thing. Be happy that they know what they are doing while raising you.

Sounds like they carefully planned your arrival. My Mom had me when she was 40. There were times when we just didn't communicate well, but as I grew older, I really appreciated the both of them. They are older, wiser and more experienced. She passed away at the ripe old age of 75. I miss her very much. It doesn't matter how old they are as long as they love and support you, that's all that really matters.

Honey, You are a very lucky girl. Your parents have passed the younger stage of raising a family and now they are more mature and they can enjoy you more and possibly spoil you more than they would your older siblings. ENJOY IT AND ENJOY THEM!!!!!!!!!!
