You just need to realise that its not going to happen, ever, and find some new and interesting things to do. Meet new people get a hobby, play a sport, any thing to get your mind off her and onto the next phase in your life. Good luck with this and just remember, there are plenty more fish in the sea so dont waste any more time thinking about the one that got away.

I have the same problem. For me I felt like I lost all sense of direction, so I decided to recreate my image. I started by eating healthy, weight training, running, got a new haircut, changed my wardrobe. I felt by changing my outside, I could learn to trick my mind I was ok with the visual. Take what you experienced as not something you lost, but something you gained, answers to what you really want in a relationship, a new beginning, and an opportunity to find someone worth your time. You just have to twist your thought process and you will be ok in time.

Move on, usually getting another girlfriend makes you busy enough to forget about the last one...I'm still friends and work with my ex'wife.

Try to stay as busy as possible and surround yourself with friends, to keep your mind off of her.

Try dating.
