i'm trying to find a safe way to sell my cockatiel. i don't wish to keep her anymore, and i know that she would be happier with someone who has more time and experience. she would be happiest with other birds, as well. please help! my one wish for her is that she live out the rest of her days in happiness and comfort. she will be 6 years old this year and has never had chicks before. she bonds well to people once she gets to know you, and she likes millet as a treat.

Please read the following article from Mickaboo Cockatiel rescue. It is too big to copy and paste here.

Many pet stores take birds in. There are also bird rescue places. Someone told me about www.petfinder.com because I am in the process of trying to get a cockatiel. You could use that site to find a shelter to call and see if they would take your bird to make sure it would go to a good home with someone that would love it.

Hi there you can post notices in veterinarian offices. In this way, you know that the potential owners care enough to take care of their other pets. What I would love to see is that your bird go to a lonely elderly person or disabled child to brighten their days. You can interview potential parents for your bird. Your ad can include call for an interview. It is your bird and this may help you find the right people or person. Good luck and have a tweet year.

Give him/her to a trusted friend or if your friends have children give thier baby sitter or friend's friends. Family members, and if all else fails you could go to petting stores where people and looking at birds and bring up the subject of your bird (if they seem like good enough people). I hope I helped and why to you have to give it away anoyway, just wondering?

My son is saving all his money for a cockatiel, but I'm not sure he should get one that's older. I have Macaws, and he wants a bird of his own. Where are you located (what state) and how much do you want for him?

Give her to a resuce, they will find a good home for her. If you sell her you risk giving her to someone that might get bored of her after a few years.
