Well honey. I hate to say this, but I think he gave you your answer. You asked him if he likes you. And he very clearly said he didn't like you as a girlfriend. So that means he likes hanging out with you, and doesn't want to date you. It's not a terrible thing. Just enjoy the relationship he is willing to give you. Otherwise you might lose him as a friend entirely.

i think you have to take things slow. right now he still only sees you as just a friend, he is still hurt from the breakup so for now just hang out more often. after that maybe you can start going on dates, being a little more flirtatious so he sees you want something more. but make sure you take things slowly. i mean 7 months is a lot for things not to be moving, but if you really see that after all of this he still just wants to be friends, then maybe its better for you two. he may just not be ready.

i don't think he likes you anymore. you gave him to many signals about you. try and date someone to forget about him. you don't need someone who isn't being real with you. you already asked him do he likes you, he say "no". try to be friends with him, if you can't be friends with him right now, tell him that. if he approaches you about going out, act cool and don't do anything stupid. Just enjoy the relationship he is willing to give you. Otherwise you might lose him as a friend entirely.
