I had dyed my hair black a while back and though that it was time to change it, so I stripped it but I still wasn't light enough for the light brown that i was going to put in my hair. So the girl at sally's said to strip it agin, so I ended up strping it two more times. I thought that it was light enough so I tried to put the brown in, but it didn't take very well, so I went and got a darker brown and it didn't take very well either. So now all i'm left with is the redish brown color and roots that are lighter than the rest of my hair. The red color comes from the stripper ( it turns your hair red ).What can I do to fix it?

I'd say that you're in for a color correction at your local salon, my dear. I can understand what you're trying to do but it's too far gone for you to be able to do anything with it yourself.
By the sounds of things, you've over-processed your hair so much that you're in need of professional help. When you apply bleach (which is what stripping is) it keeps breaking down the hair so doing it as much as you have (3 X's) you've more than likely damaged it to the point that it may not take the color without a filler. A filler is exactly what it sounds like. It's like pure pigment that is applied to the hair to fill in the damage that's been done. THIS is what is involved in the color correction. Adding more color to your hair at this point, may cause your hair more harm than good. I hate to tell you that but it'll cost you more in the long run to keep doing this yourself than it would just to visit the salon.
They'll help you there. They are your friends. :-D !!! I hope this helps and sorry to give you the bad news but sugar coating it won't help either, right? Hope it all works out for you!!! Let us all know what you've decided to do!!

if you stripped your hair three times in a short amount of time (like a week to two weeks) then you probably severely damaged your hair, we're talking completely fried and unable to hold the color. for now, just go to sally beauty and find some reconstructive conditioners. wait at least two weeks before you dye your hair again, using the reconstructive treatments the entire time. then when you dye your hair again, buy some loreal technique pre-color primer. i've never used this before, but it's supposed to helpt to strengthen your hair and ensure that the color goes on evenly and absorbs properly. hopefully this will help you, if not, then either go to a professional or wait it out a bit and try again in a few weeks. good luck!

Hi I'm not a hairdresser (just someone who's f**ked up their hair alot!!!)

I wouldn't put anything else on it for atleast 2 weeks.

Feed it with good conditioner for a while, and wear a lot of hats if it looks real bad. You dont want to completely damage the hair you have. I have done that, and have had to have the whole lot cut off and start again. Be careful with stripping the dye out of your hair. It is the harshest process you can do.

Good luck, and hats look kind of cool!!!!!!
