We have a movie file that was uploaded from a Sony Mini-DVD camera into Magix Movie Edit Pro 11. The file came up as an H0 file, and was not readable by Magix. Is there a way to convert into a readable file?

Try grabbing the picture from the video output rather than taking the file. Output of the camera played to input on your computer.
Better yet, get Adobe and forget the whole thing.
