I'll go for LCD flat TV.
Don't be confuses there's two type of LCD. Flat LCD and LCD projection TV. The Projection TV use bulb that need to replace every 2-3years (depend on usage) so I'm not going to recommended the projection TV.

What you hear isn't mandatory genuine. in fact that maximum digital manufacturers are targeted on LCDs because of the competition. purely 2 important manufacturers : Panasonic and Pioneer are invested heavily in Plasma technologies and study, and the effect confirmed that. Plasma are made by skill of different manufacturers too yet they do no longer positioned a lot money into the technologies because of the fact liquid crystal demonstrate is greater familiar because of the smaller demonstrate screen sizes. For television with a demonstrate screen length of 37" or much less, you would be greater powerful off with liquid crystal demonstrate. Any television with a 37" or larger demonstrate screen, Plasma is the greater powerful decision right here.

I was told by a friend who works in the industry, that the Liquid Crystal tvs are better.
He said Plasma screens are good for about a year but the lcds last a very long time.

When new, the quality is the same for both.

I agree with the people here. Although, if I were you, I may go with a DLP HDTV -- its cheaper, and easier to fix should something go wrong.

both are flat. both are great for hdtv.

lcds usually last longer... but plasmas give your richer picture.

lcds are seceptible to damage, whereas you can punch a plasma and nothing iwll happen.
