Not if you are taking ANY pain reliever at all.
Generally, a dentist will give you a couple of Vicodin (hydrocodone & acetaminophen) or Tylenol #3 (acetaminophen with codeine). Here's the real deal.
Hydrocodone and codeine are opioids- chemically-related pain relievers. If you combine alcohol with these, you run the risk of slowing your heart rate and breathing waaaay down- and you could fall into a coma, and maybe even die.
Then you get the acetaminophen component. These are metabolized by the liver, and so is alcohol. The combination of alcohol and acetaminophen COULD cause your liver's cells to die off- necrosis.
So you have a choice. You can take a pain reliever OR you can drink. But you can't do both without hurting yourself.
Does it still sound like a good idea?
Bear in mind- the pain from a pulled tooth is bone pain- and tissue pain in the gum. It will increase as your anesthetic wears off. Alcohol is NOT a pain reliever.
Is beer that important to you than physical comfort? Only you can decide- but at least now you are armed with the information.

PS- Excellent point, Alice- sugar is what bacteria like to eat. Since you are dousing your mouth AND an open sore with sugars, you are also increasing your risk of infection.
Girl, ever thought about pharmacy school?:)

there is alcohol in beer, so drinking beer maycause stinging or even swelling, also if you get a tooth pulled then you may be on pain pills an some pain pills are not safe and can cause harm if taken with alcohol.

No its not a good idea as alcohol restricts the blood flow as does smoking and a socket needs to produce a blood clot so it can start to heal, if it doesn't then you could be left with a painful dry socket that would require further treatment at the dentist

If you can handle the pain of the carbonation on an open sore then it should be ok. Be sure to brush your teeth.
